Marginal drop in cargo moving through Ben Gurion airport in January

The airport handled 21,883 tons of cargo, down 1.93% compared to the parallel period last year

Israel's airport authority released last week figures relating to passenger and cargo traffic at Ben Gurion InternationalAirport.

The figures indicate that passenger numbers during the month of January was 883,000, up 13% compared to the corresponding period last year. The airport registered 7,386 international and local aircraft movements. During January the airport handled 21,883 tons of cargo, down 1.93% compared to the parallel period last year (22,315 tons).

Passenger aircraft carried 9,788 tons, drop of 1.67%, compared to the parallel period last year (9,955 tons). Cargo aircraft carried 12,095 tons, a drop of 2.14% compared to the parallel period last year (12,360 tons).
